While some skincare companies today develop products based on the latest skincare industry trends and buzzwords, we’re committed to starting with science and then deciding which ingredients to include to meet your skincare needs.
Step 1: Start with Science
SkinKick’s skincare experts began the formulation of our 2-Step Blemish Kick Duo by asking themselves what the products should accomplish for our customers: Are we hoping to clear the skin? Renew the skin? Minimize redness and discoloration? Smooth wrinkles? Hydrate? Promote a healthy glow? With these skincare goals clearly defined, our scientists then reviewed their knowledge of skin cell biology to understand exactly what types of vitamins and nutrients our skin cells require to meet these goals. With our 2-Step Kick Blemish Kick Duo, SkinKick’s scientists hoped not only to clear the appearance of blemishes but also to calm redness, lock in moisture and renew the skin for a lasting, healthy glow. Now, it was just a matter of finding the right ingredients to accomplish our goals.
Step 2: Match Ingredients to Skin Cell Needs
Once our skincare experts knew exactly what they hoped to accomplish and the exact properties their ingredients needed to have to achieve their goals, they searched the world over to find the most powerful yet gentle natural botanicals to meet the skincare goals identified. Dr. Bill Provance, our Chief Science Officer, had spent years living in Brazil near the Amazon Rainforest and knew it was one of the earth’s richest sources of powerful yet gentle botanicals full of vitamins, nutrients, and fatty acids. Dr. Provance and his team researched and tested different botanicals until they identified three key botanicals to clear the skin and five key botanicals to renew the skin. When combined, these botanicals cleared blemishes, minimized redness, calmed inflamed skin and locked in hydration and our products’ active ingredients. This “second skin” also blocked out harmful substances like pollution and kept makeup from touching the skin. Together these eight powerful botanicals from the Amazon had amazing results, clearing the skin without the dryness, itching, flaking and irritation that often accompanies chemicals like benzoyl peroxide common to many blemish products today.
